Writing Samples

I've always loved to write. During my first four years of college and at my marketing job, I've learned how to adapt my tone and style for different goals. Now as I'm learning about creating games, I'm also developing my style for narrative design.

The Crack

The Crack explores the uncertainty a young woman experiences after recently graduating from college. I wrote this during the last semester of my undergraduate as I wondered what was next for me.

Desolation Gridlock

My game design class made a collectible card game and I was in charge of writing the card names and their flavor texts. I worked with the core systems team to make sure the names and flavor matched the card's ability as well as the overall narrative for our game's setting.

Spirits

I often listen to movie soundtracks while I write to prevent me from getting distracted by lyrics. This poem was written while listening to one of my favorite movies.

Family Complex

I wrote this choose-your-own adventure style book that was based on the Greek mythology of Clytemnestra and her daughter Iphigenia's sacrifice. The choices made by the reader were designed to examine themes of generational cycles of pattern and allowing readers the choice if they wanted to break it. I am in the process of editing and formatting the story in Twine.

Echo Rift

I worked with our team's artists and engineers to create dialog sprites that I was able to add to our game's project in Unity. I talked with our concept artists, cutscene animator, and system engineer to make sure it all worked for our narrative. Note: Our game is currently in production and with a shift in our game's scope, I'm in the process of cutting and editing our dialog.

Green Hills

I wrote this short story to explore how people process grief differently and choose to leave behind or hold on more tightly to the things people leave behind when they're no longer in our lives.
